Hi everyone. What I really love about this mid-length, black jersey dress from French Connection, and what makes it unique from other LBDs I own, is that I can dress it up with high heels (my original choice) or add some attitude with black ankle boots (my final choice). But what I love most are the sexy, semi-sheer panels at the shoulders and hips. To me, those details make the dress.
As I took one final gaze in the mirror before heading out to do the shoot, something about the edgy yet sophisticated look of this outfit made me reach for this statement necklace at the last minute. Sometimes, I just love it when a look comes together unexpectedly. And now I know what I am wearing out this weekend. I hope you like it.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Living close to the beach sometimes I forget that I have such an amazing location nearby. For this shoot, all I really wanted to do was to take a nice, relaxing walk on the beach. With comfort in mind, I kept things simple with this striped sweater and cut-off jean shorts. I added a white, collared shirt underneath to add a preppy touch. And, since I needed the feeling of the my feet in the sand, the sandals stayed in my hands the whole time. It was the perfect way to relax after a long week.
Happy Wednesday everyone. Thank goodness the sun is starting to set just a little bit later now. For the first time in a few months I was finally able to rush home after work and actually have a whole 20min to run outside and do this shoot before the sun went down. It has been so hard shooting only on weekends.
I bought this pleated, floral skirt at Zara last week and could not wait for spring to wear it. I really love the beautiful, sheer pattern and the length is perfect. I think you’ll be seeing a lot of this skirt in the spring and summer. To pick up on the green colors in the pattern I decided to pair it with this olive blazer and I added a silk, cream blouse to enhance the already feminine look. These Dolce Vita sandals complimented the whole look and were an easy choice. I hope you like it.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s day. I bought this bold print top from Zara yesterday and wanted to do a set with it. It has a bit of a wide crop at the bottom and for some reason it just wasn’t looking defined enough at the waist with this skirt. Then I put on my tried and true bow belt and the look just came together for me. This bow belt has saved me numerous times by defining my waist in dresses and tops and I would highly recommend one to everyone out there. I kept the jewelry to a minimum and added these Schutz heels and a black, zippered clutch. I hope you like it.
At the last minute I decided to spend the weekend in chilly NY for my first New York Fashion Week. On Friday I got a chance to visit the French Connection NY office showroom for a sneak peak at the wonderful, upcoming mid-summer collection. The pieces were amazing and it was a nice to mingle with other bloggers there. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get into any of the packed shows but I still had a great time mingling around Lincoln Center with other bloggers and feeling the energy of the fashion vibe throughout the city. And, I learned a lot about how to get in to the shows for the next NYFW in Sept. and the best fashionista hotels to stay at.
For this shoot outside the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week building in the frigid Lincoln Center square I did my best to not look as freezing cold as I was. At least this did give me the opportunity to wear my MaxMara cashmere and wool blend jacket again. I paired this with a Theory sweater with a black shirt underneath and boyfriend jeans. I also found new appreciation for being a fashion blogger in sunny and warm LA.
